Who we are

I'm Joe — husband, father, researcher, and treasure hunter.

Buried Expectations started as a YouTube channel documenting what I was finding for treasure hunting friends interested in the Superstition Mountains, but not local to the area. It's grown into a platform where I share research, curate and sell quality treasure hunting books, and offer merch for those kind enough to support the work. We also offer hand-made salves (by me!) to keep those dry desert winds from destroying your delicate skin.

I'm a Masonic Knight Templar and a contributing author to the Knights Templar Magazine. I'm also the youngest member of Bob Brewer's Knights of the Golden Circle research team. I've climbed the Aztec Jaguar Warrior initiation temple at Malinalco, handled recovered artifacts in the vault at the Arizona History Museum, and followed leads on everything from Confederate caches to pre-Columbian symbols that most people don't know exist.

This site is where it all comes together: the videos, the research, the books, the merch. Whether you're deep into treasure hunting or just getting started, welcome.
